Dessert Wines
This varietal is a clone of the ubiquitous Traminer of northeastern France and central Europe which was singled out and propagated by M. Oberlin, director of the Alsation experiment station at Colmar. Medium vigor with small clusters. Light and delicate with spicy overtones.
Grown adjacent to our vineyard, these prolific, free-stone peaches are harvested early in September. A light-colored dessert wine, with a fruitiness reminiscent of a freshly picked peach.
Also grown adjacent to our vineyard, a combination of Aurora, Bartlett and Gorham varieties, these are harvested late in the season.
Another neighbor in our increasing orchard, this is an amalgam of Green Gage, Tartarian and New York 900.5A fruit, harvested in mid-September. A pale plum-color is an indication of the quality of our "Limited Reserve" label.
This fine ruby port was made from Marechal Foch grapes. After a slow fermentation the rich flavors combine into a lucious wine that is a perfect finish to a memorable evening
Vigorous and hardy with a touch of tartness, recalling "petit Chablis", it has Chardonnay in its ancestry. A clean crisp white wine, our "Special Reserve" is an excellent choice for apres dinner.
One of our newest "Special Reserves", this late harvest Seyval Blanc is an elegant example of the many dessert wines we produce. It is hand selected in late October when bunches are affected with "botrytis cinera" and gently pressed yielding 30 degrees brix or greater. After a slow and careful fermentation the rich flavors combine into a luscious wine that is a perfect finish to a memorable evening. |
